Apple's Strategic Data Solutions team is responsible for performing financial crimes regulatory compliance screening company-wide - including sanctions screening and anti-money laundering (AML) - to comply with global regulations and laws, while optimizing and empowering our customers and internal partners.\\n\\nThe SDS software engineering team builds software and services to enable compliance decisioning. We work side-by-side with machine learning engineers and implement scalable, easy-to-use systems and tools. We are seeking a customer-focused, passionate, and driven Software Engineer with experience in building analytic tools and solutions.

With the expansive data we have, our job is to build meaningful data relationships and engagement experiences for our internal customers. As a Software Engineer on the SDS team, you will work closely with Machine Learning Engineers and other Software Engineers to lead the design and implementation of systems and tools to support the sanctions screening and anti-money laundering compliance efforts of SDS.\n\nYou will be:\n* Developing and implementing production software for sanctions screening and anti-money laundering compliance\n* Designing robust and scalable software architecture\n* Working with external infrastructure teams to drive the development of infrastructure needs\n* Working with cross-functional engineering team partners and business teams to craft engineering requirements\n* Innovating by recognizing opportunities for automation and tools improvements\n* Driving process improvements to bring efficiency and stability to compliance analytics\n* Leading the team to increase the level of maturity and skill in analytical software development\n* Designing to regulatory standards with rigorous and innovative engineering\n* Responsible for release engineering

BS or advanced degree in Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience\nMastery of one of Python, Java, Scala, C++ or equivalent language\n4+ years of experience in software engineering/data science\nExperience building data science or analytics tools using modern cloud data lakehouses or distributed compute frameworks like Spark

Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud platform deployment\nExperience with Relational databases and NoSQL databases\nDemonstrated understanding of the full software development lifecycle\nExcellent problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skills\nSolid grasp of computer science fundamentals including data structures and algorithms\nSolid ability to evaluate and apply new technologies in a short time\nSelf-motivated, proactive, and solution-oriented
