JD:
- This role is for a shipping coordinator responsible for coordinating Post-Test Automotive Engine Component Submission to Suppliers.
- This role requires Knowledge of automotive Engines, to be able to clearly identify the Components.
- The candidate is expected to coordinate with cross-functional teams, engineering, manufacturing, testing and validation teams, and suppliers.
- The customer conducts tests of automotive engines at their premises. These engines are then torn down into components, and component review is carried out. After this review, the customer needs to ship the engine components back to the component supplier for them to review and provide a report back to the customer.
- Customer is looking for shipping coordinator to manage the Post-Test Engine component returns to the component suppliers and subsequent tracking of supplier reporting. The initial work will consist of 15-20 engines per month. Might increase to 30.
- Shipping coordinator will be provided with a space on-site at the customer premises in Auburn Hills, MI. All work is to be executed at this location.
The Shipping Coordinator will then execute the following process:
1. Move blue cart to distribution center
2. Remove each component from blue cart, label all components with engine # & test details
3. Write move ticket(s) to move empty blue cart to storage area
4. Bin components into correct bins for suppliers
5. Notify supplier contacts via email that parts need to be picked up within 5 days
6. Create visitor passes in Customer s Visitor System for supplier visits as needed
8. Write gate passes for suppliers to remove parts
9. Escort suppliers back to security
10. For heavy parts, arrange to be banded to pallet or placed in box
11. Write shipper for heavy parts to domestic supplier location and attach to box.
a. Include move ticket to move heavy parts to East Dock to have East Dock package and ship, and attach move ticket to box.
13. Report out monthly to management on timeliness of supplier part retrieval and supplier report submission
1. Customer will provide a document for each engine, clearly identifying each component with pictures, part numbers, and supplier names and contact information.
2. Customer shall have approval of all Supplier employees that will be working directly with Customer including employees who work on-site. Work from Home is not possible for this project.
3. Customer will provide a laptop and access to the required databases
4. Customer will provide all the necessary infrastructure, access, required training on any in-house systems and clearances at Customer facilities to carry out their functions.
5. Customer will provide basic facilities including seating for the staff assigned to Customer premises.
6. Customer will be responsible for overall program management, management of program timelines, final approvals & releases.
Below is the broad list of deliverables identified from the current scope:
1. Reports from component suppliers received by and delivered to appropriate Customer DRE, and uploaded in the appropriate location.
2. Shipping Coordinator will review reports and flag any issues found to Customer Project Manager as well as DRE.
3. Shipping Coordinator will issue a monthly report broken down by engine program, listing number of reports received from suppliers on time, issues found, number of late or missing reports, and the details of the suppliers that are noncompliant to the requirement.
4. All deliveries / services are rendered to Customer.
5. Customer will have the bottom-line responsibility for compliance to applicable Statutory and Regulatory requirements, product safety & prevention of counterfeit parts, etc.
6. No Personally identifiable information (PII) is handled as part of this scope.
No travel is expected to be required for the execution of this work.
Good understanding of engine components and functions
1. Ability to correctly identify each engine component, label it with engine and part number, pack and ship it to the correct supplier.
2. Excellent command of the English language
3. Excellent communication skills written, verbal, and listening.
4. Ability to work in cross-functional teams and drive decisions.
5. Excellent organizational skills to be able to track multiple components from multiple engines at multiple suppliers, and be able to condense information into concise and meaningful reports.
6. Strong problem-solving, team management, and project management skills.
7. Excellent ability to work in the Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc).
8. Ability to physically execute the packaging and shipping work according to the following guidelines:
