Position SummaryCVS Health is in search of a Director that will be responsible for leading a team of IT Sourcing & Category Management professionals and help guide the development and execution of strategic sourcing strategies that drive cost savings within CVS Health's Information Technology categories. For background, the IT Sourcing & Category Management team manages over $3B in annual spend and supports key business units across the enterprise (e.g. Healthcare Services, Software, Shared Services, Infrastructure, Cloud Computing, Operations etc.).
The role involves managing and guiding direct reports to identify and quantify cost reduction opportunities for the enterprise through spend analytics, market intelligence, and review of current vendor agreements. This position plays a significant role representing procurement on large scale strategic enterprise initiatives and special projects (e.g. sourcing process transformation, acquisition integration, etc.).
This role reports to the Executive Director of IT Strategic Sourcing & Category management and will work in a collaborative environment that provides support and guidance to ensure Strategic Procurement is effectively serving its internal stakeholders and meeting established financial savings targets.
Key Responsibilities- Build and guide a high performing IT Sourcing & Category Management organization based on relationship management and categorization strategy.
- Standardize processes, documentation, reporting among the IT Sourcing & Category Management Org.
- Ensure the team develops and maintains refreshed and comprehensive Category Plans for all IT categories/sub-categories that can easily be consolidated and shared with Sr. Procurement leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale supplier relationships at all levels.
- Demonstrated knowledge of, and expertise in, various IT and Procurement concepts, practices, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Maintain a pipeline of key initiatives to drive savings opportunities
- Create a process for reviewing expiring contracts to ensure compliance with purchasing and contract policies.
- Work collaboratively with leaders within Procurement to deliver an end-to-end P2P process that effectively serves business stakeholders
- Set clear and specific goals for your team including savings and cost avoidance targets.
- Ensure the team is delivering a high level of customer service by meeting internal SLAs.
- Provide Procurement leadership with weekly comprehensive updates of active and planned projects including current status and overall performance towards meeting or exceeding SLAs and savings targets
- Provide Strategic direction on multiple concurrent medium-to-large sourcing engagements.
- Facilitate and lead internal team meetings with the goal of maintaining colleague engagement and facilitate development of organization.
- Represent the department and organization and effectively communicate and demonstrate Strategic Sourcing's value proposition with regards to driving cost savings and RFP vendor selection.
- Leverage internal and external resources to identify opportunities to build the sourcing project pipeline:
- Market intelligence tools
- Category spend data
- Expiring contract reports
This role will be a hybrid position based out of Woonsocket, RI and will be required to be in office weekly
Required Qualifications- 10+ years' experience of relevant IT category management/college experience in a procurement/strategic sourcing or equivalent environment.
- 5+ years of resource management and leadership experience.
- Proven experience with the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
- Proven experience negotiating and managing large, enterprise suppliers (i.e. Microsoft, Oracle, Saleforce, Broadcom, IBM, AT&T, Dell, AWS, Google, etc.), delivering commercial value aligned to operational delivery and category strategies.
- Proven experience managing, coaching and developing a team of procurement professionals at various stages of their careers.
- Demonstrated strong organization and project management skills.
- Proven exceptional stakeholder management skills with experience utilizing IT roadmaps to build effective Category Management Plans.
Preferred Qualifications- Strong analytical ability, ability to think strategically, and learn and process new information quickly.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to confidently and professionally interact with staff and leadership.
- Proven ability to handle multiple tasks without direct supervision, while paying strong attention to detail and follow-up.
- Eager to gain new experiences, qualifications, and responsibilities.
- Experience with electronic sourcing platforms, such as Ariba eSourcing.
- Ability to keep Sr. Procurement Leadership informed of current state of the team.
Education- Bachelor's degree in Management, Business, Economics, Supply-Chain, Finance, Accounting Technology or a in a related field or equivalent years of relevant experience is required.
- MBA is preferred.
Pay RangeThe typical pay range for this role is:
$100,000.00 - $231,540.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
