IT System Admin (Locals Only)

Location: Portsmouth, VA - 23704 (This area of the city is called Old town Portsmouth )
Duration: 9 months contract (100% Onsite)
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Systems, or a closely related field, plus a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Information Technology. At least 5 years must include hands-on maintenance of VMware, Active Directory, Storage Array, and Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure environments, and 3 years focused on Microsoft Windows servers, networking, and applications.
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Intune, Okta identity and security integrations, Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure administration, and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)/Certificate Authority design and certificate deployment. Highly proficient in VMware deployment, support, and VDI solutions. Demonstrated hands-on experience configuring, troubleshooting, and repairing server and data center hardware. Strong experience with Windows Group Policy management, Windows patching/deployment, and scripting (for automation, deployment, and reporting).
Certifications and equivalent job experience may be considered in lieu of the formal education requirement.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must successfully pass a comprehensive background investigation, including local, state, and federal criminal history checks, plus a sex offender registry check.
Valid driver s license with an acceptable driving record.
Position requires on-call availability and the ability to provide after-hours troubleshooting and maintenance as needed.
