The Work
Our Training, Logistics and Simulation (TLS) Integrated Engineering team is looking for a first line leader responsible for a diverse, multi-disciplinary team that develops innovative training solutions for JSF Pilot Training Devices' Ownship (OWN) Integrated Product Team (IPT).
The OWN IPT is responsible for implementing the capabilities that allow student pilots' the ability to train using a high fidelity software simulation of the same systems they will interface with when flying the actual air vehicle. All of the OWN capabilities are engineered through the full product lifecycle (requirements, design, implement, test, sustain).
This role specifically will have functional management as well as technical leadership responsibilities within the OWN IPT
As a key member of our leadership team you will:
Drive cost/schedule/technical execution over software development and other engineering activities on the team
Enable and manage the performance of talented, multi-disciplined engineering teams by setting and clearly communicating organizational vision, expectations, and objectives
Ensure the integrity of engineering activity by employing both quantitative and qualitative management approaches and compliance with Command Media
Collect and use data to make data-driven decisions
Actively monitor staffing demand and take action to ensure sufficient supply
Promote the continual identification and active management of teams' risks and opportunities
Champion continuous improvement activities, especially those aligning to 1LMX
Organize and facilitate the personal and career development of team members
Ensure team members are prepared with the training and skills to be successful within their teams. Create and execute organizational training plans.
Partner with Human Resources to promote a "people first" culture and to resolve all personnel-related matters in a timely fashion
Foster a work environment that values out-of-the-box thinking and focus on big-picture solutions

You enjoy champion engineering rigor and product development process compliance throughout the product lifecycle. You bring innovative ideas that influence the broader engineering tenets while aligning activities for efficient and successful engineering methodology. You champion organizational change across the portfolio and optimize how the product lines operate.
This position will require the selected candidate to have an active Secret level U.S. government security clearance before starting with Lockheed Martin. U.S. citizenship is a requirement for consideration.

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline
- Must possess, or have ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
- Demonstrated leadership skills and behaviors that align with the Full Spectrum Leadership Imperatives
- Experience working collaboratively with Program Management, Finance, and Contracts organizations
- Knowledgeable in Systems/Software Engineering processes and tools
- Experience across the System Development Life Cycle
- Experience planning and coordinating systems/software development in a team-oriented environment
- Understanding of Agile Product Development

Desired skills

- Active Secret Clearance with F35 SAP
- 9 years or more of professional, related experience
- Advanced degree in Science, Mathematics, Engineering or Management
- Previous leadership experience, including mentoring / coaching to support the technical and professional development of others
- Proven leadership experience in engineering assignments and successful proven results in leading and executing on large software intensive programs
- Experience developing and managing a project budget and schedule, managing risks and opportunities, managing to metrics
- Understanding of program, functional, and process metrics including Earned Value Management (EVM)
- Experience in Systems Engineering, Complex Systems Integration & Test, and Model-Based Engineering (MBE) processes, principles and tools
- SAFe Training/Certification, RMS SAM Training/Certification or other Recognized Agile Certification
- Working knowledge of C++, Linux, Windows, Agile, and Atlassian tool suite
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience leading a team through change
- Ability to build effective relationships
- Experience with Flight Simulation

Ability to work remotely

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $104,500 - $184,115. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement
