Job Summary
Tryfacta is seeking a Network Voice Engineer for our client in Albany, NY 12203. This is a 1-year temporary contract opportunity.
Position Title: Network Voice Engineer
Location: Albany, NY 12203
Work Arrangement: Remote
Travel: Required within New York State for physical work on network and voice infrastructure
Duration: 1 year
Schedule: 37.5 hours/week
Responsibilities
- Manage enterprise LAN, SD-WAN, and voice services.
- Develop, support, and maintain voice services to meet organizational needs.
- Provide leadership and training to IT support staff for voice-related MADC tasks.
- Ensure software and hardware support and maintenance contracts remain current.
- Design, implement, and document IP network architecture and services.
- Schedule and handle off-hours support and network outages.
- Leverage CMDB and established change-management processes.
- Respond to incoming calls, pages, and emails regarding IT infrastructure issues.
- Operate network tools, components, and peripheral equipment.
- Follow established change-management policies and procedures.
- Escalate outage situations to appropriate IT management.
- Document network changes graphically and within the change-management database (CMDB).
- Coordinate network services with server administrators at cloud-based facilities.
- Support network infrastructure associated with organizational growth and new-construction environments.
- Perform other duties contributing to the objectives of the IT Operations team.
Required Qualifications
- Expert-level knowledge of Cisco network and voice products.
- Expert-level technical knowledge of network services, including DHCP and DNS.
- Strong experience with LAN/WAN/SD-WAN environments.
- Experience designing, installing, maintaining, and documenting computer networks.
- Experience with Cisco and Extreme network equipment.
- Strong experience managing vendor relationships and vendor oversight.
- Ability and willingness to travel within New York State to perform physical work on network and voice infrastructure.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and activities simultaneously.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
- Professional judgment and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Preferred Education
- Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science preferred; OR
- Associate''s degree in a STEM field plus 1–2 years of relevant work experience.
