Automation Test Engineer

Job Description:

Primary Skill: Katalon Studio

We are looking for an experienced Automation Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Katalon Studio for web/mobile/API test automation. The ideal candidate should have solid understanding of test automation frameworks, scripting, CI/CD integration, and end to end QA processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Katalon Studio (Web, API, Mobile).

Build and enhance keyword driven, data driven test automation frameworks.

Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and QA teams to understand requirements and translate them into automation test cases.

Perform API automation using Katalon s built in REST/SOAP capabilities.

Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, etc.).

Maintain test objects in Katalon Object Repository and ensure stability of locators.

Execute test suites, analyze results, identify defects, and drive issue resolution.

Contribute to improving automation strategy, including reducing manual effort and increasing coverage.

Document automation processes, frameworks, and execution reports.

Technical Skills Required:

Strong experience with Katalon Studio (mandatory).

Strong understanding of Selenium / WebDriver concepts (Katalon is built on Selenium).

Knowledge of Groovy/Java for scripting in Katalon.

Experience in API testing (REST/SOAP) using Katalon.

Experience with Git / Bitbucket / GitHub for version control.

Experience with Jenkins / Azure DevOps / GitLab CI for automation pipeline integration.

Good understanding of HTML, CSS, XPath, CSS selectors (locator strategies).

Familiarity with SQL queries for backend validation.

Exposure to testing on mobile platforms (Android/iOS) using Katalon (optional).

Experience with Agile / Scrum environments.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with TestNG/JUnit, even if not primary.

Knowledge of other automation tools (Selenium, Appium, Postman) is a plus.

Familiarity with cloud-based execution (BrowserStack, LambdaTest, Sauce Labs).

Understanding of BDD/Cucumber (nice to have).
