JOB DESCRIPTION We are seeking a Mid-Level Cloud DevOps Engineer to support a Cloud FinOps-focused initiative within the U.S. Air Force Cloud One Architecture and Common Shared Services (ACSS) program. This role emphasizes automation, cost optimization, and scalable DevSecOps solutions across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure environments.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience building automated cloud solutions, enabling continuous delivery, and driving financial accountability across large-scale cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities - Design, build, and maintain automated solutions to optimize cloud cost, performance, and efficiency
- Develop and implement DevOps and automation strategies supporting multi-cloud environments
- Enable continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to accelerate deployments and updates
- Integrate cost optimization practices into engineering workflows to reduce waste and improve financial visibility
- Perform system integration, verification, validation, and supportability analysis for cloud-based systems
- Utilize metrics, trends, and telemetry to identify opportunities for improvement across tools, processes, and environments
- Troubleshoot and resolve system functionality, performance, and configuration issues
- Collaborate with cloud engineers, cost analysts, and program leadership to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Develop automated mechanisms to support rapid release cycles, bug fixes, and continuous feedback integration
- Contribute to engineering strategies that improve system scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency
Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree
- 8+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or related field
- Experience supporting cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or OCI)
- Strong experience with automation, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices
- Experience with system integration, performance optimization, and troubleshooting
- Active Secret Clearance required
- U.S. Citizenship required
- IAT Level II certification required
- One or more cloud certifications required
Preferred Qualifications - Experience supporting USAF Cloud One or DoD cloud environments
- Familiarity with FinOps practices and cloud cost optimization strategies
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
- Experience with Kubernetes and containerized environments
- Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and observability tools
- Experience working in large-scale, distributed cloud environments
