Job: Enterprise Digital Agility Coach
Client: Amtrak 1 US
Location: Washington, DC
Duration: 11 Months contract
Job Description
As an Enterprise Digital Agility Coach based in the Washington, D.C. area, you will be the strategic architect of a large-scale Lean-Agile transformation for a premier Randstad client. This high-impact role requires a seasoned SAFe 6 Practice Consultant (SPC) to bridge the gap between technical execution and executive strategy, specifically within complex hardware and COTS (Commercial Off-the-Shelf) environments. You will move beyond team-level ceremonies to advise on operating models, implement OKR frameworks, and lead the transition from waterfall lifecycles to Agile product delivery. By leveraging tools like AgilityHealth and Jira Align, you will foster a high-performance culture of autonomy and continuous improvement across the entire digital enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Advisory: Collaborate with leadership to design and implement operating models, transformation governance, and OKR frameworks to measure progress.
SAFe Leadership: Facilitate and coach Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) and Agile Release Train (ART) events; serve as a subject matter expert on SAFe 6.0.
Training & Mentorship: Deliver and certify SAFe 6 courses (SA, SP, RTE, etc.) using SAFe Collaborate and develop custom Lean-Agile training materials.
Maturity Assessments: Act as a certified AgilityHealth Facilitator (AHF) to perform maturity assessments and develop strategies to address organizational growth items.
Transformation Execution: Drive end-to-end Agile adoption for hardware and COTS products, replacing waterfall bottlenecks with flow-based Lean principles.
Tooling Strategy: Support the enterprise adoption of Atlassian Cloud (Jira Align/Jira/Confluence) and AgilityHealth to track adoption and performance metrics.
Change Management: Identify organizational impediments, foster a "fail-fast" experimental environment, and coach "Agile Champions" across functional areas.
Community Building: Launch and mature Communities of Practice (CoPs) to encourage cross-functional pollination between Digital Transformation (DT) and the business.
Qualifications
Certifications: Active SAFe 6 Practice Consultant (SPC) certification and enablements; Certified AgilityHealth Facilitator (AHF).
Coaching Experience: Minimum of 6 years coaching agile teams and 3+ years guiding Agile portfolios, product lines, and Lean budgeting.
Technical Background: At least 5 years of experience in Engineering, IT, or a related technical field.
Transformation Track Record: Proven experience leading at least 2 large-scale transformations (150+ people) in complex, highly regulated environments.
Methodology Expertise: Deep fluency in Waterfall, Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, XP, and DevSecOps, with the ability to transition organizations from Waterfall to Agile.
Technical Proficiency: Expert-level knowledge of Jira, Confluence, AgilityHealth, and SAFe for Enterprise; familiarity with infrastructure/DevOps concepts.
Communication: Exceptional presentation skills with a proven ability to communicate complex strategies to a large, diverse organization.
Logistics: Ability to travel quarterly along the Northeast corridor for PI Planning events and operate comfortably in a "camera-on" virtual environment.
