Summary

Inserso is seeking to provide an MECM (Microsoft End Point Configuration Manager) Applications Packager in support of our government customer.  This position reports to the Enterprise Services and Tools Operations & Maintenance Team Lead and is responsible for creating, testing, and deploying enterprise application packages across within a large-scale enterprise environment exceeding 40,000 endpoints. The Applications Packager will support application deployment across Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) and Microsoft Intune, including hybrid and co-managed endpoint environments.

The Application Packager will standardize application packaging practices, develop PowerShell automation, and ensure consistent and reliable software deployments across enterprise Windows environments. This position will collaborate closely with system administrators, application owners, and operations teams to maintain secure and compliant endpoint configurations.

Responsibilities:

  • Create, test, and deploy application packages using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) and Microsoft Intune.
  • Develop and maintain PowerShell automation scripts to support application packaging, deployment validation, and compliance reporting.
  • Evaluate and validate application packages, ensuring proper installation logic, logging, detection methods, and uninstall procedures.
  • Maintain standardized packaging processes for enterprise software deployment.
  • Create, update, and manage MECM collections and deployment configurations required for application distribution.
  • Respond to application packaging requests within 3 business days and complete packaging within 7 business days.  
  • Support application deployment in co-managed MECM / Intune environments.
  • Troubleshoot deployment issues across enterprise endpoints using tools such as MECM, Microsoft Intune, Tanium, and system log analysis.
  •  Utilize Tanium and enterprise endpoint management tools to validate application deployment status and compliance.
  • Work with system administrators and application owners to review packaging results and troubleshoot deployment issues.
  • Provide routine and ad-hoc reports to system administrators and management detailing deployment status and compliance metrics.
  • Participate in technical discussions and provide subject matter expertise on enterprise application packaging.
  • Manage trouble ticket queues, perform trend and root cause analysis, and document remediation activities in the enterprise ticketing system. 
  • Develop and maintain PowerShell automation scripts to streamline application packaging, deployment validation, and operational reporting. 
  • Provide weekly activity reports describing completed packaging activities and operational support. 

Required Skills/Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in IT support or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience administering MECM.
  • Experience packaging applications for large enterprise environments exceeding 40,000 endpoints.
  • Advanced PowerShell scripting skills used for automation, deployment validation, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience deploying applications through Microsoft Intune and MECM hybrid environments.
  • Experience packaging and deploying COTS and custom enterprise applications.
  • Experience with MSI packaging, application detection logic, and silent installation frameworks.
  • Experience and hands-on experience with SQL queries and VB Script
  • Experience administrating Microsoft Windows Server environments (2016, 2019, 2022, 2025) 
  • Experience troubleshooting enterprise endpoint deployments using system logs and endpoint telemetry.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft Windows Desktop OS Win10 & Win 11.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  •  ITIL certified.
  • Experience supporting DHS or other federal enterprise environments. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune application deployment (Win32 apps).
  • Experience with PowerShell App Deployment Toolkit (PSADT).
  • Experience using Tanium for endpoint visibility, remediation, and deployment validation
  •  Experience creating enterprise reporting using MECM or PowerShell automation.
  • Familiarity with enterprise endpoint security tools.
  • Experience supporting co-managed endpoint environments. 

 Preferred Certification:

  •  Microsoft Endpoint Administrator Associate (MD-102).
  • Microsoft Modern Desktop Administrator.
  • CompTIA Security+.
  • Microsoft Azure or Endpoint Management certifications.
