### Job Summary Thinking Minds' client is seeking a Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain cloud data pipelines, models, and governance controls. This role ensures reliable, accessible, secure, and cost-efficient data, including high-frequency power generation telemetry. Working with Operations, Finance, Data Science, and Software Engineering, the engineer supports analytics, reporting, customer-facing data products, and AI initiatives while improving production performance and scalability.

### Ideal Candidate Should Have

A practical approach to Data Quality, observability, security, and cost management.

The ability to establish a documented Basis for data ownership, consistent design standards, and trusted self-service analytics.

### Key Responsibilities
Build batch, streaming, and event-driven pipelines integrating SaaS applications, APIs, and industrial telemetry; develop transformations across raw, integration, and presentation layers.

Establish data freshness service-level agreements, pipeline monitoring, alerting, and automated quality checks protecting customer-facing and financial applications.

Optimize time-series workloads through warehouse sizing, clustering, query tuning, budgets, and resource monitoring.

Maintain Git and CI/CD workflows, version-controlled schema changes, and promotion across development, testing, and production environments.

Implement Data Governance controls, including role-based access, tagging, masking, and row-level security; secure and monitor externally shared data products.

Document assets, ownership, and semantic models; retire unused assets and standardize naming conventions.

Collaborate on requirements and data designs; support incident response, root cause analysis, and production operations.

### Required Qualifications
Minimum four years of experience in data engineering or a closely related role.

Strong SQL and Python skills and experience designing, deploying, and operating production pipelines at scale.

Experience with large datasets, pipeline orchestration, scheduling tools, Git, and CI/CD practices.

Strong understanding of Data Modeling, data warehousing, ELT, ETL, data quality, observability, monitoring, security, and access controls.

### Preferred Qualifications
Production Snowflake experience using Dynamic Tables, Tasks, Streams, and Snowpipe or Snowpipe Streaming.

Experience with warehouse optimization, cost controls, Data metric functions, tagging, masking policies, row access policies, and Secure Data Sharing.

Familiarity with Zero-copy cloning, Time Travel, schema migration, and infrastructure-as-code tools.

Experience with Snowpark or Snowflake Cortex and related AI capabilities.

Experience with time-series, IoT, sensor data, energy, power generation, oil and gas, or industrial and operational technology (OT) environments.

Familiarity with Grafana or business intelligence tools.
