Summary

Job Title: Exadata Migration Lead Location: Remote (US) Duration: Long Term Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Exadata Engineer to design, implement, administer, optimize, and support Oracle Exadata environments. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Oracle Database Administration, Oracle Exadata infrastructure, performance tuning, high availability solutions, and migration projects. This role will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, security, and performance of mission-critical database systems supporting enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and maintain Oracle Exadata Database Machines in production, development, and disaster recovery environments.
  • Install, configure, patch, upgrade, and troubleshoot Oracle Exadata hardware and software components.
  • Manage Oracle RAC, ASM, Grid Infrastructure, and Oracle Enterprise Manager environments.
  • Monitor database and Exadata system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning recommendations.
  • Perform capacity planning, health checks, and performance assessments.
  • Support database backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and Oracle Data Guard.
  • Configure and maintain high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Execute Exadata migrations, consolidations, and upgrade projects.
  • Manage storage cells, InfiniBand/RoCE networking, and Exadata-specific features.
  • Troubleshoot complex database, storage, and operating system issues.
  • Automate routine administrative tasks using Shell, Python, Ansible, or similar tools.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, application, cloud, and security teams to support enterprise initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and architecture diagrams.
  • Participate in on-call support and incident management activities.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of Oracle Database Administration experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on Oracle Exadata administration experience.
  • Strong experience with:
    • Oracle Exadata X8/X9/X10 or newer platforms
    • Oracle RAC
    • Oracle ASM
    • Oracle Grid Infrastructure
    • Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)
    • Oracle Data Guard
    • RMAN Backup and Recovery
    • Linux Administration (Oracle Linux, Red Hat Enterprise Linux)
  • Experience performing Exadata patching using Oracle recommended methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of database performance tuning and SQL optimization.
  • Experience supporting mission-critical production environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) DBA certification.
  • Oracle Exadata Implementation Specialist certification.

    • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)

    • Exadata Cloud@Customer
    • Oracle GoldenGate
    • Zero Downtime Migration (ZDM)
