Summary

Overview

Are you passionate about using cutting-edge technologies and capabilities across Microsoft's Intelligent Cloud Platform? Do you strive to improve customer experience and business performance? Would you like to drive change at a billion-dollar, global user-scale company and deliver improvements that result in meaningful impact? If so, we want you on the Monetization and Business Planning team! Our organization directs the commercial portfolio's pricing, packaging, licensing, channel, and monetization strategies.

As a Senior Software Engineer in the Monetization and Business Planning team, you will be responsible for improving operational efficiency by designing, building and maintaining automated solutions that impact how go-to-market decisions are made. Your automated solutions will drive product monetization timelines. You will become an integral part of how we scale Microsoft's monetization strategy - leading technical initiatives, guiding teams through complex deliveries, and partnering closely with business stakeholders. You will develop your career, forge effective cross-functional relationships, take on progressively broader responsibilities, and establish yourself as a trusted strategic advisor. You can expect to have sponsorship for your work, support for your professional development, and encouragement to bring your authentic self to work.

Microsoft's mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and validate secure, high-performance web applications and backend services using Azure services, Power Platform, and modern JavaScript frameworks - integrating workflow automation, AI/ML, and data insights to deliver resilient, enterprise-grade solutions
  • Collaborate across engineering, business, and operations teams - including non-technical stakeholders such as business planners, finance, and product managers - to translate requirements into technical solutions, clarify ambiguity, and drive alignment across organizational boundaries
  • Build, scale, and maintain end-to-end workflows that remove manual bottlenecks in pricing, launch management and product performance measurement
  • Serve as a technical lead for projects or feature areas - driving architectural decisions, coordinating delivery, conducting design/code reviews, and
supporting the growth and development of engineers across the team to foster a culture of technical excellence
  • Identify emerging technologies (e.g., AI agents, orchestration patterns, low-code accelerators) and evaluate their applicability and ROI for improving pricing and launch workflows, using data and business impact analysis to inform investment decisions
  • Champion observability, reliability, and maintainability of production systems through logging, monitoring, alerting, and incident response practices, with a focus on end-to-end customer experience
  • Embody our culture and values

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience.
  • 1+ year(s) experience with business process automation
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, and AI/ML models (including LLMs and Agentic AI) in production workflows
  • Demonstrated experience designing and consuming MCP, RESTful APIs, Vectors, working with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform), and building data-driven applications
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and system design with a focus on security and performance
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric or other enterprise data analytics platforms
  • 1+ year(s) of experience leading technical delivery end-to-end - including scoping, stakeholder alignment, and progress communication - across cross-team dependencies and ambiguous business requirements with minimal guidance
