Summary

UPMC Western Behavioral Health at Safe Harbor is hiring for a Crisis Clinician III to serve in a clinical education role within the Crisis Services department.

Crisis has served as Erie County?s 24/7 crisis hotline operator as well as community crisis responder since 1993. Crisis Services offers phone, mobile and walk-in services to individuals of all ages. In addition to providing comprehensive crisis interventions, Crisis Services is also a part of the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.

Under the direction of the Crisis Program Director, you will coordinate training opportunities for the crisis team, Safe Harbor employees, and community partners. Your primary responsibilities include organizing training and tabling event requests and collaborating with Safe Harbor?s team of trainers and leaders to ensure successful planning and execution. You will also participate in organizational and community committees as requested. In this role, you may have the opportunity to supervise direct reports within the Crisis Service Line of UPMC Western Behavioral Health.

Key Information:

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30a-5pm. Flexibility required for some evenings/weekends to meet department needs for presentations and tabling requests.

  • Location: 2560 West 12th Street, Erie, 16505

  • Dress Code: Business Casual

  • Parking: Free on site.



Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging presentations and training sessions to diverse audiences, including crisis staff & Safe Harbor employees, community partners, and external stakeholders.
  • Effectively communicating complex information in a clear, professional and audience-appropriate manner.
  • Must have excellent organization skills, professional verbal & written skills and the ability to collaborate with community partners.
  • Serve as the shift lead by overseeing daily operations, managing cross-shift communication, and supporting staff development and onboarding.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, supervisors and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Respond to consumer, community and provider inquiries while coordinating referrals and accessing appropriate services.

  • Bachelor?s degree in psychology, Counseling or Social Work WITH three years of crisis experience
  • OR master?s degree in psychology, Counseling or Social Work WITH two years mental health direct care experience.
  • Other fields of study may be considered with coursework of at least 12 credits in human services and/or relevant mental health experience
  • Experience should include phone triage, as well as an in-depth knowledge and proven skill at doing psychiatric assessments.
  • Experience in mental health crisis intervention, case management, or in home therapy preferred.
  • Excellent, recovery-oriented interpersonal relations
  • Licensure in social work or professional counseling is preferred.

  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
