Job Summary:
The Director of Engineering Outreach supports the College of Engineering primarily through working with regional high schools to bring more high school students to campus and having more K-12 students understand the opportunities in engineering and computer science.
Job Description:

The Director of Engineering Outreach works closely with and reports directly to the Dean of the College of Engineering. The Director of Engineering Outreach will provide strong leadership in developing, implementing, and managing the college's outreach programs. They will work with faculty and staff to coordinate activities on and off campus. They will help in directing hands-on activities during outreach events. They will regularly interface with teachers, guidance counselors, and administrators at regional schools. They are expected to practice, advocate and promote the highest of standards for academic achievement, honesty and professional integrity.

This is a 3-year temporary externally-funded appointment.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Provide a leadership role for the college's outreach programs.
  • Coordinate and manage the college's special events such as on-campus explore engineering days.
  • Work directly with high schools in the region.
  • Apply for, manage, and execute grants that help support outreach activities.
  • Carefully track the impact of outreach activities.
  • Work to recruit faculty and students to assist in outreach activities.
  • Work with the Dean and Assistant Dean on messaging appropriate for outreach events.
  • Actively participate in professional development activities
  • Other duties as assigned
