Product Designer

Location: Remote

6 month contract that can extend

Role Overview

We are seeking a Product Designer with a strong UX focus to work on consumer-facing applications. The ideal candidate will be a systems-level thinker with an understanding of how digital design integrates with physical spaces. This role involves transforming requirements into functional screens, creating prototypes, and collaborating with multiple teams to ensure successful product implementation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Translate requirement documents into user flows, wireframes, and prototypes, progressing from low-fidelity to high-fidelity designs.
  • Develop and maintain design systems, identifying when new components are needed and working with the design system team.
  • Design for responsive web-based applications, considering various screen sizes.
  • Utilize Figma for creating and iterating on designs.
  • Apply an understanding of service design principles, including service blueprints and journey maps, to inform the user experience in physical settings.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure designs are built to specification and participate in the quality assurance process.
  • Engage with multiple stakeholders across business, product, and development teams, effectively communicating design concepts and rationale.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience designing consumer-facing applications, with a preference for checkout flow experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in UX design, including user flows and prototyping.
  • Experience utilizing and contributing to design systems.
  • Proficiency with Figma.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to manage relationships with multiple stakeholders across different teams.
  • Experience working on responsive web-based applications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the retail or e-commerce sector, particularly with systems supporting registers, returns, or checkout processes.
  • A background in service design or process design.
  • Experience with kiosk-based work.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates the design process and rationale behind solutions
