Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior z/OS Storage Systems Programmer with deep expertise in IBM mainframe storage environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in z/OS system programming, enterprise storage management, disaster recovery, and automation, supporting large-scale production environments.

This role requires strong technical leadership in implementing, maintaining, and optimizing storage infrastructure, as well as developing and enforcing enterprise storage management policies.

Required Professional & Technical Expertise

Core z/OS System Programming Skills

• Minimum 10+ years of experience in z/OS systems programming
• Strong expertise in:
• ISPF / SDSF
• zFS (z/OS File System)
• Unix System Services (USS)
• RACF security
• JES parameters
• SYS1.PARMLIB and SYS1.PROCLIB configuration

Storage Management Expertise

• Deep experience in mainframe storage administration (DASD and Tape)
• Advanced catalog management and maintenance experience
• Strong knowledge of:
• DFSMS and DFHSM
• DFSMSdss
• ISMF and DFSMS NaviQuest
• Proven experience in:
• Developing and implementing ACS (Automated Class Selection) routines
• Storage policy automation
• Hands-on experience with:
• DFHSM Fast Replication (FlashCopy, Copy Pools)
• DFRMM and other tape management tools

Technical & Platform Experience

• Strong programming/scripting skills (REXX preferred)
• Experience with:
• IBM DS8000 (DS8xxx) storage systems
• IBM TS7700 (TS77xx) tape systems
• Working knowledge of:
• VSAM RLS implementation and monitoring
• Disk and tape replication technologies
• Hyperswap implementation
• Cloud object storage solutions
• Familiarity with:
• IBM Transparent Cloud Tiering (TCT)
