Location: San Antonio, TX

Job Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Investment Operations Contractor to support middle office and back-office investment operations within a fast-paced asset management environment. This role is responsible for executing daily operational processes, maintaining investment data integrity, supporting trade lifecycle activities, and resolving operational issues across a variety of investment products.

The ideal candidate will bring strong attention to detail, experience supporting investment operations workflows, and the ability to work collaboratively with traders, portfolio managers, custodians, and internal operational teams.

This position is onsite at a major financial services campus.



Key Responsibilities



  • Perform security master setup and maintenance for new and existing investment instruments
  • Support end-to-end trade lifecycle processing including trade capture, settlements, and post-trade activities
  • Execute daily trade, position, and cash reconciliations while researching and resolving breaks
  • Investigate operational, system, and data discrepancies and escalate complex issues when appropriate
  • Maintain investment reference and static data to support operational accuracy
  • Process equity and fixed income transactions including stocks, bonds, repurchase agreements, and private credit instruments
  • Support daily cash and payment processing activities
  • Coordinate with traders, portfolio managers, custodians, and internal teams to resolve operational issues
  • Maintain tracking logs, exception reports, and operational checklists
  • Ensure adherence to audit, compliance, risk, and control standards through accurate documentation and processing
  • Perform transaction processing, exception handling, and routine operational support activities



Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field preferred
  • 4+ years of experience in investment operations, finance, accounting, financial services administration, or related operational support roles
  • Experience supporting back-office or middle-office investment operations processes
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy skills
  • Experience with trade settlements, reconciliations, and securities processing
  • Ability to manage routine, process-driven operational work with accuracy and consistency
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills



Required Technical Skills



  • Experience with investment operations platforms such as:

    • BlackRock Aladdin
    • PAM for Investments

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience with business intelligence and reporting tools such as:

    • Tableau




Preferred Experience



  • Exposure to equity and fixed income operations
  • Experience supporting securities processing and settlement functions
  • Familiarity with private credit or repurchase agreement processing
  • Experience working within highly regulated financial services environments
