Job Description:
The Backbone Sales Engineer serves as a liaison in the sales process, developing network solutions and providing subject matter expertise. You will apply your knowledge and expertise to understand customer requirements, identify appropriate network product solutions, and channel that information into the sales quoting process. Once these solutions are sold, you will define and communicate project scope and facilitate the ordering process with both internal and external vendors. This position will collaborate in cross-departmental efforts to develop process efficiencies, process improvements and automation strategies. We are looking for a Sales Engineer who will foster a culture of collaboration, open communication, and forward thinking.
Duties/Responsibilities:

- Primary owner of high-volume network solutions quoting function, serving both external MDU sales and internal network expansion efforts
- Consults with internal and external clients to assess and understand project objectives and network service requirements
- Provides subject-matter technical expertise and support to sales teams
- Design optimal network solutions, utilizing both Pavlov fiber assets and off-net vendor solutions
- Ensure that proposed and implemented network solutions meet customer needs, while meeting Pavlov financial objectives
- Prepare internal and external service orders, including all associated project tracking tasks
- Address post-sale implementation issues requiring technical design expertise and inter-departmental coordination
- Vendor management
- Participation in network planning activities, including design, quoting, and implementation
- Provide high quality and positive customer service experience to all stakeholders
- Assist in process improvement efforts through interdepartmental collaboration
- Assists with research and development of new products
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business or technical equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of related product or sales experience
Desired Qualifications:
- Blend of sales ability and technical knowledge that enables determination of client needs, design of complex technical systems, and ensuring that pricing meets the needs of both their employer's expected profit margins and client's budget
- Experience with telecommunications products and services, including Internet circuits, transport circuits, wavelengths, EPL/EVPL/NNI, dark fiber, IRU's
- Experience with Google Earth and GIS programs
- Familiarity with customer premise network equipment (CPE's, routers, switches)
- Ability to design DLR's for circuits
- Proven ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
- Organized self-starter with the ability to work independently
- Excellent sales and customer service skills with a proven ability to explain technical products to non-technical audiences
- Never settling for "this is how we've always done it."
- Experience in project management and driving process improvement
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to effectively communicate, prioritize, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Visio, Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong attention-to-detail, organizational skills, time management skills, and proven ability to meet deadlines with thorough follow through
Physical Requirements:
The successful candidate will be able to perform the following with or without reasonable accommodation:

- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Compensation & Benefits:
The salary range for this position is: $90,000 to $130,000
Work Authorization

Actual base pay for this job will depend on the candidate's primary work location and other factors, such as relevant skills and experience. Pavlov Media is committed to complying with the Equal Pay Act and places a strong emphasis on internal equity when determining compensation. Final pay will be determined based on the candidate's skills, experience, and alignment with our internal equity standards, ensuring fairness and consistency across the organization. The salary banding for this role also allows room for growth, with opportunities for pay increases within the band based on performance and contributions.
