Terms of Employment

• Contract-to-Hire, 12 months
• This position is hybrid (1 day per week onsite)
• The office is located in Columbia, MD.

• Client is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to leverage Dynatrace for ensuring end-to-end observability across their hybrid infrastructure and critical applications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for configuring and managing Dynatrace monitoring solutions, developing dashboards, and proactively identifying performance issues. In this role, you will lead the implementation and configuration of enterprise-wide monitoring solutions for critical bridge applications. You will serve as the subject matter expert in optimizing Dynatrace for end-to-end visibility, configuring advanced monitoring capabilities, and expanding the observability stack with modern tools like Prometheus and OpenTelemetry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure, administer, and optimize the Dynatrace platform for enterprise application performance monitoring (APM).
• Design and implement end-to-end transaction flow tracking, synthetic monitoring, and Real User Monitoring (RUM) to assess user experience and system health.
• Establish comprehensive monitoring for infrastructure hosts, service requests, and automated batch jobs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Prometheus metrics into Dynatrace using OpenTelemetry.
• Assist production support teams with 10-20% day-to-day operational activities, including incident management, reporting, and troubleshooting.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Systems Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on technical experience with Dynatrace setup, administration, and configuration settings.
• Mandatory expertise working in an Azure Cloud environment.
• Proven track record setting up Real User Monitoring (RUM), synthetic monitoring, and transaction flow analysis.
• Ability to report on-site once per week at the Columbia, MD office.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Prometheus
• Experience in the healthcare insurance industry.
• Hands-on experience or familiarity with Prometheus monitoring.
• Knowledge of Linux environments and OpenTelemetry integration.
