Job Description:

Apex Systems is currently hiring for a Network Security Engineer with a financial services client. This Engineer will possess technical expertise and engineering skill which allows her/him to be grow into a leading subject matter expert for both Investor and Advisor themed technology as well as enabling Cloud based solutions. This individual must be able to work in a fast paced, start up like environment, assist to identify requirements and facilitate implementation, while following appropriate change control and release processes.

Qualified candidates will have the following experience and skills:

Strong Firewall Engineering Experience

• Hands-on experience with Cisco FTD and Palo Alto firewalls (highly desired).
• Understanding of on-prem and cloud-native firewalls (AWS/Azure).

Network Security Troubleshooting & Incident Resolution

• Advanced troubleshooting skills to isolate root cause across complex environments.
• Ability to work with developers on firewall rule creation and log analysis.

Cloud & Automation Skills

• Experience with scripting (Python, PowerShell, JSON, YAML).
• Familiarity with automation tools (Terraform, Ansible).

General Network Security Tooling Knowledge

• Exposure to DDoS, proxy, VPN, and firewall orchestration technologies.
• Understanding of network security best practices.

Systems & Environment Knowledge

• Understanding of Linux/Windows environments and VMware.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Location: Fort Mill, SC - T,W,Th onsite (M/Fr remote)

Onsite expectation: HYRBRID

Pay range: $76-$80/hr W2

Contract length: 6 months with potential for extension
