What you'll do...

Position: Staff Software Engineer

Job Location: 1375 Crossman Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94089

Duties: Design and build core platform components using various web technologies to gather competitive information such as product and pricing details from the web. Design and build large scale multi-tenant system that utilizes machine learning models to improve precision of competitive information for business stakeholders to make decisions on product assortment and pricing of the products. Partner and collaborate on product development with business stakeholders and cross functional teams to capture business requirements. Troubleshoot business and production issues by gathering information (for example, issue, impact, criticality, and possible root cause. Provide technical guidance and continuous mentorship to junior members in the team.

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years of experience in software engineering or related area OR Master's degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years of experience in software engineering or related area.

Skills required: Experience designing and implementing applications using distributed event streaming platforms including Kafka and EventHub. Experience designing and implementing services on cloud-based platforms including Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure. Experience automating deployment and management of containerized applications including Kubernetes. Experience coding in Object Oriented programming languages including Java, Python, and Scala. Experience designing and managing Database systems and Data Lakes including Cassandra, Cosmos, MySQL, DB2, HIVE, and HUDI. Experience designing and implementing web-based services including Java, JavaScript, and Python. Experience designing the process to record and analyze the behavior of systems including Telemetry and Prometheus. Experience designing and implementing Machine Learning algorithms using Python and TensorFlow. Experience designing networking systems for optimal flow of data across a network using proxy management, socket management, and DNS management. Experience designing platform using efficient data structure methodologies and algorithms implemented using programming languages including Java and Python. Experience designing and implementing applications based on batch processing methodologies including Apache Flink and Apache Spark. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.

Salary Range: $153,301/year to $286,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.
