Job Description:
Location: 100% Remote (U.S.) | Seattle/Washington preferred
Engagement: Contract (through end of year) | Potential contract-to-hire
Client is seeking a Technical Project Manager with a strong data engineering background to lead delivery across its Data Hub and analytics ecosystem. This role is highly hands-on and blends technical
leadership (75%) with project and product execution (25%). There is a Product Manager on the team currently, who this person will be working with.  This role will be focused on the technical team and improving their throughput.
This individual will play a critical role in driving delivery, unblocking teams, and ensuring work is executed—not just planned. The role partners closely with engineering, product, and vendor teams, ensuring both the technical and execution sides move forward together.
______________
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership (Primary Focus – ~75%)
•    Provide hands-on leadership across data engineering and analytics initiatives, including Data Hub enhancements and semantic layer development. Our current Kforce Datahub team is about 22 people, a mix of Data Engineers, BI Report Developers, Data Analysts, QA Engineers and ½ the team is onshore and ½ the team is offshore. There is crossover on the teams in the morning, and this client works PST hours.  There are also employees from the full-time team a part of this project. The current Data Engineering Manager is looking for someone to pick up the pace and provide a more efficient, effective environment.
•    Guide engineers on technical approach, architecture, and best practices, stepping in as needed to resolve blockers.
•    Own and manage technical workstreams across Snowflake, SQL Server, and cloud-based data platforms.
•    Review, contribute to, and help prioritize technical tasks and backlog items.
•    Balance hands-on contribution with guiding the team to ensure work is properly distributed and completed.
______________
Project & Delivery Management (~25%)
•    Own execution of sprint work including user stories, backlog grooming, sprint planning, and standups.
•    Manage delivery artifacts using Azure DevOps / Jira and Confluence.
•    Drive accountability and momentum across engineering and product teams to ensure consistent throughput.
•    Ensure work moves smoothly from requirements → development → QA → delivery.
•    Act as a strong execution partner to the Product Manager, aligning engineering output with product priorities.
______________
Collaboration & Coordination
•    Partner closely with Product Management, Engineering Leads, and Offshore teams.
•    Support offshore execution by helping coordinate work, balance workloads, and maintain delivery cadence.
•    Provide clear status updates and surface risks early to leadership.
•    Occasionally participate in business or stakeholder conversations as a technical support voice (primary business ownership remains with Product).
______________
Required Qualifications
•    Strong background in data engineering or data architecture (this is not a traditional PM-only role).
•    Experience leading teams working with:
o    Snowflake
o    SQL / SQL Server
o    Cloud-based data platforms and analytics pipelines
•    Demonstrated success driving delivery and execution, not just managing plans.
•    Working knowledge of Agile delivery, including:
o    User stories
o    Sprint ceremonies
o    Backlog and task ownership
•    Experience using Jira / Azure DevOps and Confluence.
•    Ability to push teams forward constructively, set expectations, and increase delivery velocity.
•    Solid SQL skills (candidates should expect a basic SQL assessment).
______________
Nice to Have
•    Healthcare or health plan domain experience.
•    Experience working with vendor data exchanges or large-scale data ingestion processes.
•    Prior experience in hybrid Technical Lead / TPM / Technical Product Manager roles.
______________
Why This Role
•    High-impact role with real ownership and influence.
•    Opportunity to shape how data and analytics delivery is executed across CHPW.
•    Visible role partnering with senior technical leadership.
•    Strong potential for contract-to-hire for candidates local to Washington.
