Applications Developer (Hybrid)

Starting Salary Range: $100,000 - $125,000

The State Corporation Commission's (SCC) Enterprise Technology Services ("ETS") Division seeks an experienced Applications Developer to join our team. The Applications Developer position plays a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining our mobile, cloud, and web applications. This position offers a hybrid work schedule (typically 3 days in office and 2 telework days each week) as well as a variety of professional development and training opportunities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical lead (subject matter expert) and influencer in project meetings for applications.
  • Perform highly technical system design, development, modification, testing, debugging and implementation.
  • Mentor and cross-train junior staff.
  • Provide technical leadership on work assignments, technology tools and methodologies.
  • Perform highly complex systems administration, maintenance, and support, including installations, upgrades, enhancements, monitoring, troubleshooting, configuration, tuning, and storage planning.
  • Manage the applications development processes and procedures in the design of systems and the development of business requirements, program specifications, systems test plans and process flow diagrams.
  • Collaborate across SCC divisions, including delivering solutions on time, and within scope.
  • Plan and develop technical architecture, frameworks, standards and guidelines.
  • Monitor technology and security trends.
  • Prepare technology briefs and impact analysis documents and recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and technical documentation.
  • Perform related work as required.
