Role Overview

The client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Microsoft Fabric Architect to lead enterprise-scale data platform modernization initiatives. This role requires deep expertise in Microsoft Fabric, SQL, Data Warehousing, Medallion Architecture, and ETL frameworks, along with strong architectural leadership to guide environment setup, optimization, governance, and licensing strategy.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in traditional Data Warehousing and Azure data platforms, combined with at least 2+ years of hands-on Microsoft Fabric experience.

Key Responsibilities

Architect end-to-end Microsoft Fabric solutions (Lakehouse, Warehouse, OneLake).
Design and implement Medallion (Bronze/Silver/Gold) architecture.
Lead Fabric environment setup, governance, and security configuration.
Define capacity planning, licensing strategy, and cost optimization.
Establish performance tuning standards for SQL, pipelines, and semantic models.
Design scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Data Engineering pipelines.
Mentor developers and provide architecture oversight.

Required Qualifications

10+ years in Data Engineering / Data Architecture.
Minimum 2+ years hands-on Microsoft Fabric experience.
Extremely strong SQL and query optimization skills.
Deep expertise in:

Data Warehousing & Dimensional Modeling
Medallion Architecture
ETL/ELT frameworks
Azure Data Factory

Experience designing scalable Lakehouse architectures.
Strong understanding of governance, security, and performance optimization.
