Hardware Engineer V

Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Hardware Engineer V for an Onsite position with a Leading Technology Firm located in Sunnyvale, CA. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

This role involves defining and executing electrical characterization and validation for consumer electronics, specifically for subsystems including sensors, audio, and cameras. The ideal candidate will develop automated test setups, own the execution and reporting of results, and support system bring-up and debug activities in a lab environment.

Responsibilities:

• Define electrical characterization/validation methodologies for sensors, audio, and camera subsystems by working with domain leads and partners
• Track and execute on detailed test plans for the PCB, modules, and subsystems characterization to meet key deadlines
• Develop automated test setups with SW scripting to implement module characterization/validation
• Own execution, interpretation, and reporting of results
• Support system bring up and debug activities
• Clearly communicate test plans and results

Requirements:

• 3+ years of Electrical System testing for consumer electronics
• Experience with one of the subsystems - sensors, audio, or camera
• Experience executing electrical testing on the bench and familiarity with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMM, e-load, power supply, power analyzer, signal generator, and temp chamber
• Understanding of board schematics and board layout, with the ability to find proper probe locations
• Knowledge of Python for data processing and automation
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Schematic capture, Python, and C experience

Desired skills:

• Board and system level validation and debugging experience
• C# and shell scripting is a plus
• Experience with data acquisition device (DAQ)
• Master's in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science

Pay range: up to $127.00 per hour
