Job Details

Job Title: Infrastructure Systems Engineer (9064)
Location: Cayce, SC 29033
Work Type: Hybrid - 3 days onsite per week (Onsite required weekly)
Duration: 12 Months
Interview Process: 1 Round - Virtual
Candidate Must Be a CURRENT South Carolina Resident - No Relocation Allowed

Key Responsibilities:
* Participate in server hosting, segmentation, and modernization initiatives
* Plan, design, install, configure, and convert physical and virtual server environments
* Coordinate daily tasks with IT Section Managers, Team Leads, vendors, and internal engineering teams
* Advise on hardware configurations and enterprise system implementations
* Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues
* Support conversion of existing environments into a segmented security framework
* Implement access controls, audit logging, and security baselines aligned with CIS, NIST, and agency standards
* Collaborate with Cybersecurity teams on vulnerability remediation and incident response
* Provide Tier 3 escalation support for identity, access, and authentication issues
* Support infrastructure migrations, cloud integration, and system upgrades
* Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CJIS, CDC data classification, and DPH security policies
* Develop and maintain technical documentation, implementation plans, and system roadmaps
* Communicate project progress, risks, and issue resolution to management
* Work flexible hours when required, including outside standard business hours
* Follow all agency IT standards, documentation requirements, and security procedures
* Sign DPH confidentiality and Business Associate agreements as required


Required Skills:
* 5+ years of experience with Windows Server
* 5+ years of experience with Group Policy (GPO) and PowerShell
* 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Active Directory
* 5+ years of experience with Backup and Disaster Recovery (DR) in enterprise environments
* 5+ years of experience with computer and network hardware, software, and operating systems
* 2+ years of experience with security and data classification related to CDC, HIPAA, or CJIS
* 3+ years of experience with IT system analysis, design, testing, deployment, and maintenance


Preferred Skills:
* Experience with Microsoft Hyper-V
* Experience with Linux Server and AIX

* Experience with Lansweeper
* Experience with Citrix Presentation Server or XenApp
