Senior Cloud Information System Security Engineer

Our organization is in search of a driven, career-focused, and customer-oriented Senior Cloud Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) to become a part of our team located in Washington, D.C..

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess the information protection requirements for an Information System (IS) and Network Environment. Establish security criteria for the IS and Network Environment in line with relevant cybersecurity standards.
• Create security architectures tailored for the IS and Network Environment. Innovate and develop cybersecurity-enhanced products suitable for the IS and Network Environment.
• Integrate and/or deploy security measures with Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) applicable to the IS and Network Environment.
• Formulate and execute security designs for both new and existing network systems. Ensure that the hardware, operating systems, and software applications are designed to meet cybersecurity standards for the IS and Network Environment.
• Design, develop, and implement network security protocols that ensure confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, and non-repudiation. Create specific cybersecurity countermeasures for the IS and Network Environment.
• Generate interface specifications for the IS and Network Environment. Develop strategies to address vulnerabilities within the IS and Network Environment and suggest modifications to network or system components as necessary.
• Ensure that the designs of network systems facilitate the integration of FBI-directed cybersecurity vulnerability solutions.

Essential Qualifications:

• Candidates must fulfill one of the following experience criteria: a high school diploma/GED with 14 years of experience, an Associate s degree with 10 years of experience, a Bachelor s degree with 8 years of experience, or a Master s degree with 6 years of experience.
• A current DoD 8140 level III certification is required.
• Experience with security tools such as Tenable Nessus and/or Security Center, IBM Guardium, HP WebInspect, Network Mapper (NMAP), or similar applications is essential.
• Familiarity with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Authorization to Operate (ATO) processes is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field is preferred.

Clearance Requirements:

• A current/active Top Secret security clearance is mandatory, along with the willingness to obtain SCI eligibility before starting.
• The selected candidate must be prepared to undergo a Polygraph examination.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time.
• Occasional movement within the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
• Regular operation of a computer and other office equipment, such as calculators, copiers, and printers.
• Frequent positioning to maintain computers in the lab, including under desks and in server closets.
• Regular communication with colleagues, management, and clients, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be capable of exchanging accurate information in these contexts.
