Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Database Administrator (Cloud DBA) with 8+ years of hands-on database administration experience and strong expertise in PostgreSQL and AWS cloud database technologies. The ideal candidate will have proven experience supporting production databases, performance tuning, high availability, disaster recovery, security, backup/recovery, and cloud database migrations.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of hands-on Database Administration experience.
• Strong production experience with PostgreSQL.
• Hands-on experience with Amazon Aurora / Aurora PostgreSQL.
• Strong experience with AWS RDS.
• Experience with Amazon DocumentDB and Amazon DynamoDB.
• Proven experience in AWS Cloud Database Administration.
• Strong knowledge of database performance tuning and query optimization.
• Experience designing and supporting High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.
• Strong knowledge of backup and recovery, database replication, and failover.
• Experience with database migration, preferably using AWS Database Migration Service (AWS DMS).
• Experience with database security, access controls, encryption, and auditing.
• Experience supporting database environments on AWS and/or Azure.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with IBM Guardium.
• Database security administration and compliance.
• Knowledge of security and compliance standards such as SOX, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, ISO 27001/27002, or similar frameworks.
• Experience with Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation.
• Scripting/automation experience using Python, PowerShell, Bash, and/or AWS CLI.
• Experience with Amazon CloudWatch and Performance Insights.
• Experience with Multi-AZ deployments, Read Replicas, Cross-Region Replication, and Point-in-Time Recovery (PITR).

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience managing enterprise production databases in cloud environments, with a focus on PostgreSQL/Aurora, AWS database services, performance optimization, HA/DR, security, and database migrations.
