Project Title: Quality assurance leadership and testing support services for ongoing application initiatives

Business Need - This role is needed to provide experienced quality assurance leadership and hands-on testing support for multiple applications where QA maturity varies, and formal processes are still being established. The candidate will help ensure consistent, reliable testing practices while reducing risk to delivery timelines and production releases.
The position addresses a critical need to reduce risk to delivery timelines and production releases by strengthening testing consistency, improving defect identification, and ensuring reliable validation of application functionality. The role will support overall application stability and help standardize QA practices across active initiatives. The selected candidate(s) will be required to sign a confidentiality, participation, and assignment of rights agreement in a form acceptable to the State.
Project Deliverables
The candidate will be responsible for delivering both hands-on testing outputs and foundational QA artifacts that support consistent and reliable validation of application functionality. Deliverables include, but not limited to:
- Executed exploratory and functional testing across application features and workflows
- Develop, maintained, and executed test cases
- Test plans and master test plans that support structured testing efforts
- Documented defects with clear and reproducible steps for resolution
- Identify risk areas and provide recommendations for test coverage and prioritization
- Contributions to QA documentation standards and repeatable testing processes
Automation contributions may occur where appropriate but not the primary delivery.
Project Milestones and Schedule Target Start Date: May 2026
Initial Assessment Period: First 30-45 days to assess current QA practices, application risk areas, and documentation gaps
Ongoing Deliverables: Continuous testing support aligned with sprint and release schedules
Contract Duration: Approximately 12 months
Contract Work Location and Hours
· The work locations will be at the address listed below. However, candidate may conduct work from a remote location within the United States, while the Minnesota Judicial Branch continues to permit remote and hybrid work arrangements.

· Business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM CST.
· The Senior QA Analyst is expected to work full-time hours during normal business hours unless otherwise agreed in advance with the contract manager.
· This position is primarily remote.
· The contract timeframe has an anticipated start date of May 4, 2026. Contract will have a projected duration of 12 months.
Qualifications and Skills
This role requires a senior-level quality assurance professional with strong hands-on testing experience who can effectively support application development and enhancement efforts. The candidate is expected to apply sound QA judgement, work independently, and proactively communicate testing progress, risks, and recommendations.
This is not a supervisory role; however, it requires a high-level of experience, accountability, and the ability to take ownership of testing efforts in environments with evolving QA processes.
Resume must clearly demonstrate the following:
Required Qualifications
· 8+ years of experience in software quality assurance or related field
· Proven experience performing hands-on quality assurance testing in software applications
· Strong understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC, and Agile testing practices
· Experience creating test cases, executing tests, and performing exploratory testing
· Ability to develop or contribute to test plans and testing documentation
· Demonstrated ability to identify risk areas and adjust testing depth accordingly
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to provide guidance and support to less-experienced testers when needed
· Comfortable working in environments without fully established QA processes
· Ability to work independently and take ownership of testing efforts
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience with test automation tools or frameworks
· Familiarity with accessibility testing principles (WCAG)
· Experience working on enterprise or government systems
· Experience contributing to or improving QA processes and standards
· Exposure to CI/CD pipelines or automated test execution
