Job Description
We are seeking a Data Principal Engineer to join our dynamic team supporting Airline Crew Operations Data Analytics projects. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Agile development, Databricks with PySpark and Python, Azure Data Factory, and data validation practices and a proven ability to design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and models in Azure to enable reliable analytics and decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines in Databricks using PySpark and Python.
- Orchestrate and monitor workflows with Azure Data Factory and related Azure services.
- Implement robust data validation, testing, and quality controls across data pipelines.
- Collaborate in Agile ceremonies, provide estimates, and deliver sprint commitments.
- Optimize performance and cost for large-scale datasets in Azure environments.
- Partner with analytics stakeholders to enable reliable data products for crew operations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency with Databricks, PySpark, and Python for data engineering.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory for pipeline orchestration.
- Strong data validation, testing, and data quality implementation skills.
- Agile development experience in data-focused teams.
- 7+ years of relevant data engineering experience.
Preferred Skills:
- Data or ML modeling exposure, including feature engineering and model-ready datasets.
- Experience with airline or operations analytics domains.
