Senior CNO Software Developer

Our organization is in search of a Senior CNO Software Developer who is both technically proficient and mission-driven to become a part of our team located in Columbia, MD.

In this position, you will be responsible for creating sophisticated CNO capabilities that play a vital role in national security. You will collaborate with a team dedicated to addressing intricate technical challenges that support our clients' most essential missions.

• Promote and uphold engineering best practices and security protocols throughout the organization. Guide the adoption of standardized validation frameworks, secure coding practices, and GitLab CI/CD pipelines to reduce technical debt and enhance operational efficiency. Hold ultimate authority on technical decisions to expand capabilities across multiple software development initiatives.

• Manage the design of complex system architectures, ensuring both scalability and security within core infrastructure and toolsets. Spearhead the development of high-fidelity analysis engines, automated software validation frameworks, and automated infrastructure utilizing IaC (Ansible, Vagrant) and containerization (Docker) to modernize essential platforms.

• Encourage a culture of technical excellence by mentoring engineers at various levels. Promote ongoing professional growth through focused code reviews, architecture design evaluations, and initiatives for knowledge sharing across projects to enhance the overall technical skills and processes of the development team.

• Serve as the main technical consultant for government and internal stakeholders, converting complex operational mission needs into practical technical designs. Ensure that project objectives, delivery schedules, and risk assessments are closely aligned, utilizing your experience as a lead developer to connect technical execution with strategic mission goals.

• A Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline (such as Information Systems or Network Engineering) from an accredited institution.

• At least 8 years of relevant technical experience in cyber software engineering or specialized technical roles. A Master s degree in a pertinent field may substitute for 2 years of experience.

• A minimum of 3 years leading technical projects, engineering workflows, or acting as a Tech Lead across multiple concurrent software development efforts.

• Expertise in programming languages such as C, C++, Go, Java, or Python.

• Familiarity with Software Version Control (Git/GitLab) and the architecture of automated testing and continuous integration (CI/CD) pipelines designed for restricted software development environments.

• Advanced knowledge of containerization (Docker) and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) frameworks (e.g., Ansible, Vagrant).

• Practical experience with enterprise virtualization technologies (vSphere/ESXi) and automated software validation frameworks.

• Strong technical understanding of low-level platform internals (e.g., Linux, Windows, Android), socket-level programming, and network traffic analysis.

• Proven ability to articulate complex technical requirements, systems architecture, and operational mission risk profiles to both development teams and non-technical leadership.

• Experience with industry-standard reverse engineering tools and binary analysis techniques.

• Experience in designing and maintaining distributed data systems and automated analysis pipelines.

• Solid understanding of CNO environments and the development of offensive capabilities.

• Proficiency in enterprise agile workflow management and documentation tools.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities.

• Advanced certifications in project management, software engineering, or technical security fields.

• Must possess an active and current TS/SCI clearance, with eligibility for polygraph.

• Ability to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time.
