Job Description:

Position Summary

Client's Digital Marketing team is looking for a temporary JIRA Specialist to improve and optimize our existing, post-migration JIRA environment from the backend and align it with better ways of working across the business. This is a hands-on role: reworking our current backend configuration while coordinating process & workflow improvements with our internal teams, IT, and vendor partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess our existing post-migration JIRA configuration and improve it from the backend - refining our current Story, Task/Sub-task, and Bug workflows, statuses, critical paths, and environment tagging (Prod vs. Non-Prod) so they better reflect how the team should be working.
  • Standardize and clean up existing conventions for issue types, priority vs. severity, and sprint accountability, and encode them consistently into the tool.
  • Coordinate process optimizations across the business - partnering with Digital Marketing, IT, and VML to align our current workflows and standards.
  • Improve existing dashboards, boards, filters, and reporting to give the team and leadership clearer visibility into progress and health.
  • Document the refined workflows and provide lightweight guides so the team can sustain the improvements after the engagement.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years hands-on JIRA administration/configuration - reworking workflows, issue types, permissions, boards, dashboards, and reporting in established environments.
  • Strong grasp of Agile/sprint delivery and how to translate team processes into clean backend workflow design.
  • Proven ability to assess an existing setup and improve it, rather than only building from scratch.
  • Proven ability to coordinate process alignment across internal teams, IT, and external vendors in a governed enterprise environment.
  • Excellent documentation and stakeholder-communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience optimizing an established JIRA Cloud instance in a governed enterprise environment.
  • Familiarity with Confluence, Advanced Roadmaps, and Zephyr.

Engagement Details

  • Term: ~3 months, focused on improving our existing post-migration JIRA workflows and coordinating process alignment across the business.
  • Time commitment: Full-time, hybrid on-site (80%) in Torrance.
