SDET QA Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to design, implement, and scale automation and performance testing solutions for cloud services. This role is ideal for a full-stack QA engineer with strong expertise in Backend API automation, Frontend UI automation, performance testing, and end-to-end (E2E) validation.

You will work closely with Product, Architecture, and Development teams to ensure quality is embedded from design through release, owning release-level quality for cloud services.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for:

  • Backend APIs (REST / gRPC)

  • Frontend Web UIs

• Develop performance and load testing scripts using JavaScript / TypeScript (k6 or similar tools)

• Build and manage CI/CD test pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub Actions

• Analyze system behavior and performance by deep-diving into logs and metrics using:

  • ELK (Kibana)

  • Datadog

  • Grafana

• Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Developers to understand system design and architecture, translating requirements into robust E2E test cases

• Perform defect triage, root cause analysis, and validation, including backend data verification using SQL

• Take ownership of release-level quality, ensuring comprehensive test coverage for monthly or milestone-based releases

• Leverage AI tools to write efficient, modern automation code and continuously improve testing frameworks and tooling

Top Mandatory Skills / Experience

• 5+ years of professional experience as an SDET / Automation Engineer

• Strong experience in Cloud API automation and Frontend automation

• Solid programming fundamentals (Data Structures, OOP)

• Hands-on experience with:

  • Playwright and Selenium for web automation

  • REST Assured and JUnit for backend/API testing

• Ability to write performance test scripts using JavaScript or TypeScript (k6 or similar tools)

• Strong experience with Grafana for metrics visualization and performance analysis

• Proven hands-on experience with:

  • ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana)

  • Datadog

• Strong working knowledge of:

  • Jenkins

  • GitHub Actions

  • SQL for backend data validation

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
