Role Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and driven Trade Compliance & Inventory Control Manager to lead trade compliance initiatives and optimize inventory performance across regional distribution operations. This role plays a critical part in protecting the organization from regulatory risk while ensuring inventory availability, operational efficiency, and exceptional customer service.
The successful candidate will manage regional distribution center performance, oversee global trade compliance programs, and drive continuous improvement across inventory management processes. This position will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, technology teams, and external partners to support compliant, efficient, and scalable operations across a global supply chain network.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead regional distribution center (RDC) operations and oversee company-wide trade compliance programs and policies.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. and international customs, import/export controls, sanctions regulations, and other applicable trade requirements.
- Drive operational performance improvements through KPI development, inventory optimization, and delivery performance management.
- Implement strategies to reduce excess and slow-moving inventory while improving inventory turnover and stock utilization.
- Partner with IT teams and ERP consultants to maintain EDI and FTP integrations between inventory management systems and SAP S/4HANA platforms.
- Conduct internal trade compliance audits and develop corrective actions to address identified risks or gaps.
- Monitor and respond to evolving regulatory requirements, including PFAS, CBAM, REACH, EUDR, Prop 65, Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), Country of Origin (COO), Full Material Disclosure (FMD), and related trade regulations.
- Manage duty drawback programs and maintain accurate documentation, record retention, and reporting for all import and export activities.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor''s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of international trade compliance experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or global supply chain environment.
- Experience working with SAP or a comparable ERP system, including inventory and warehouse management processes.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting.
- Strong understanding of global trade regulations, customs requirements, import/export controls, sanctions compliance, HTS classification, and country-of-origin requirements.
- Experience managing inventory control initiatives, establishing operational KPIs, and driving continuous improvement programs.
- Ability to interpret changing regulatory requirements and implement compliant business processes across multiple functions.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, organizational, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams.
