Job Title: Quality Materials Handler III

Job Location: Portsmouth, VA

Job Type: Contract

Pay Range: $17.86hr - $22.86hr

Job Overview:

  • The candidate will perform a wide variety of activities to support the Quality Management System, including routine quality control audits, verification of picking activities, and reporting service issue trends. The role involves providing real-time feedback to prevent issues, conducting spot-check inspections, and participating in internal audit programs to ensure procedural compliance within the distribution center.

Responsibilities:

The candidate will perform a wide variety of activities to support the Quality Management System. The candidate s responsibilities include reporting to the supervisor and performing the following duties:

  • Perform routine quality control audits to ensure procedural compliance.
  • Perform daily verification of picking activities.
  • Report daily service issues to teams in morning Tier meetings.
  • Actively analyze and report service issues trends.
  • Provide real-time feedback and error correction to prevent issues before they escalate.
  • Remove damaged product from pickable locations.
  • Conduct spot-check inspections and audits of production operations.
  • Participate in the internal audit program.
  • Assist in supporting the Document Control program, record retention areas, and sample retention areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Ability to follow Good Documentation Practices (GDP).

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Degree.
  • 2+ years of warehouse operations experience.

Communication Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and small groups of employees.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Computer Skills:

The successful candidate should have knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook.

  • Experience with SAGE or Great Plains ERP preferred.

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to follow procedures and accurately document results.
  • Understanding of distribution processes for the organization s products and the ability to recognize deviations from approved documented procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Work Environment:

  • Distribution Center.
  • Due to nature of job The candidate must have Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
