Location: 100% Remote
Contract Duration: 1 Year
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Administrator with strong expertise in Software AG technologies. The selected candidate will collaborate with ADABAS administrators to support the MACWIS system and other related applications.
Key Responsibilities
Administer and support ADABAS databases and related Software AG products for enterprise systems.
Analyze user requirements and assist with system design, testing, implementation, and quality assurance of information systems.
Support applications utilizing Natural One, ADABAS, MVS/JCL, COBOL/CICS, VSAM files, Linux/zLinux, Espsoft/SCL, Informix, and UNIX.
Maintain and enhance database performance, stability, and reliability across supported systems.
Provide system architecture guidance and technical expertise for database and application environments.
Develop, maintain, and update documentation related to procedures, policies, and operational processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams supporting MACWIS and other MDHS applications.
Participate in an on-call rotation to provide operational support when required.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
10+ years of experience with Software AG technologies, including:

10+ years of experience analyzing user requirements and supporting information systems using:

ADABAS
MVS/JCL
COBOL/CICS
VSAM files

Espsoft/SCL
Informix
UNIX
3+ years of experience advising on system architecture and maintaining documentation for procedures, policies, and processes.
2+ years of experience with SNAP, TANF, eligibility, economic assistance, and child welfare policies and procedures, including implementation of state and federal mandates in Linux systems.
