Summary

IT Software Engineer Operational & Production Support Focus

Remote

Key Responsibilities

Provide L2/L3 production support for critical business applications.
Monitor application health, system performance, and batch jobs.
Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents within defined SLAs.
Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures.
Work closely with development, QA, DevOps, and infrastructure teams.
Support deployments, releases, and environment configurations.
Maintain documentation for incidents, known issues, and resolutions.
Participate in on-call rotations and weekend support if required.
Drive continuous improvement in operational efficiency and system reliability.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
5+ years of experience in Software Engineering with production support exposure.
Strong understanding of:

Application monitoring tools (Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, etc.)
Incident management tools (ServiceNow, Jira, etc.)
Linux/Unix commands
SQL and database troubleshooting

Experience with Java / .NET / Python / or similar backend technologies.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / Google Cloud Platform) is a plus.
Strong debugging and log analysis skills.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in high-availability, mission-critical systems.
Knowledge of ITIL framework.
Exposure to automation/scripting (Shell, Python, PowerShell).
Prior experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
