Senior Certified Linux Administrator/Engineer

Introduction:

The Senior Certified Linux Administrator/Engineer will be responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of the Solaris/Linux infrastructure with client proprietary applications and Oracle database servers. They will work in a large and complex IT environment, focusing on RedHat Linux 7/8/9/Solaris 11 administration/patch management, and Ansible RHEL V8. This position requires a minimum of 14-15+ years of experience in systems administration, with a preference for those who have worked on public sector projects.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain the security and integrity of the Solaris/Linux infrastructure
• Design and configure RHEL8 infrastructure according to client security standards
• Develop migration strategies from RHEL8 to RHEL9
• Convert existing Puppet code to Ansible Roles
• Develop new provisioning templates for server installation and configuration
• Work on automation and system standardization
• Migrate applications from Solaris11 to RHEL7/8 on VMware
• Perform quarterly patching of RedHat and Solaris servers
• Support RedHat Satellite/capsules and Ansible tower
• Support Cohesity and Veritas Netbackup infrastructure
• Work on incident tickets and resolve in a timely manner
• Provide on-call Unix/Linux support in a 24X7 environment

Requirements:

Required Skills:

• Minimum 12+ years of experience within systems administration
• Expertise with RedHat Linux 7/8/9
• RedHat Linux 7/8/9 administration/patch management
• Redhat satellite management
• Ansible automation platform management
• Hands-on Ansible playbooks
• Experience in vulnerability management and troubleshooting
• Migration experience from RHEL 8 to 9
• Experience in server builds and custom configurations
• Strong skills in TCP/IP networking, VMware, Oracle database servers, and server migrations
• Knowledge of storage management, LVM, ZFS, and database/Windows administration

Preferred Skills:

• Storage management basics
• Database administration basics (Oracle, Sybase, SQL database)
• Windows administration basics
• Cloud integration basics (Kubernetes, AWS, Openstack, Dockers)
• Experience with Git, Informatica, Cognos, Splunk, HP ALM
• Certifications such as ITIL, RedHat Certified Specialist, Sun Certified System Administrator, SUSE Certified Linux Administrator, VERITAS Storage Foundation, VERITAS Cluster Server
