Role Overview
This role involves the development and implementation of production and tooling methodologies. The Manufacturing Engineer will participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to integrate technical solutions, lead manufacturing plans, and resolve technical problems impacting performance, cost, or schedule. The position requires validating production readiness and implementing lean principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement production and tooling methodologies.
- Participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to integrate technical solutions across multiple disciplines.
- Develop, identify, and implement conceptual designs while maintaining the program architecture for build.
- Lead and implement manufacturing plans.
- Conduct producibility and variation analyses to ensure manufacturing process capability aligns with requirements.
- Assist in providing producibility information for project plans and document best practices.
- Analyze design and build concepts to evaluate producible design and build definitions.
- Resolve technical problems that impact performance, cost, or schedule.
- Coordinate and implement new engineering principles, theories, advanced technologies, and concepts.
- Validate and ensure production readiness of solutions to complex problems.
- Implement lean principles and technologies.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor, Master, or Doctorate of Science degree from an ABET-accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry is required.
Experience: 5 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience is necessary. This includes 5+ years of engineering experience related to the development, selection, or revision of parts, materials, and process specifications for production testing, electrical subsystems, aircraft interiors, and other aircraft systems.
Work Authorization: This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. A "US Person" includes a , lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in production planning, including ownership of value stream build plans.
- Experience with 787 systems, build plans, production testing, electrical installations, or aircraft interiors.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a demanding work environment and schedule.
Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated pay range for this position is between $71.35 and $92.79 per hour. This position is a contract role where Apex Systems offers a comprehensive benefits package.
