Summary

Position Overview

We are seeking two experienced, customer-focused Desktop Support Technicians to provide hands-on technical support for a corporate office and nine additional locations throughout New Jersey.

One technician will primarily support North Jersey locations, while the second will primarily support Central Jersey locations. Both positions require regular travel to assigned locations, with occasional travel to other New Jersey sites as business needs require.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on IT professional who is comfortable troubleshooting a broad range of end-user technology, including Windows and Apple laptops, desktop computers, monitors, peripherals, conference room technology, and audiovisual (AV) equipment.

Key Responsibilities

·       Provide on-site desktop and end-user support for the corporate office and assigned New Jersey locations.

·       Install, configure, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Windows and Apple/Mac laptops and desktops.

·       Support monitors, docking stations, keyboards, mice, printers, headsets, webcams, and other end-user peripherals.

·       Troubleshoot hardware, software, operating system, connectivity, and application issues.

·       Provide hands-on support for conference rooms and audiovisual equipment, including displays, cameras, microphones, speakers, and video conferencing technology.

·       Set up and troubleshoot technology for meetings, presentations, and conference calls.

·       Perform workstation deployments, replacements, upgrades, moves, and equipment refreshes.

·       Configure and prepare laptops and desktops for new employees.

·       Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding, including equipment setup and collection.

·       Diagnose technical issues and determine when escalation to other IT teams or vendors is required.

·       Respond to support tickets and service requests in a timely and professional manner.

·       Document incidents, resolutions, equipment changes, and support activities.

·       Maintain and track IT equipment and inventory as required.

·       Provide remote support when an on-site visit is not necessary.

·       Travel regularly to assigned New Jersey locations to provide hands-on technical support.

·       Work collaboratively with corporate IT and other technology teams to maintain a consistent end-user experience across all locations.

Required Qualifications

·       2+ years of experience in desktop support, help desk, field services, or end-user computing support.

·       Hands-on experience supporting both Microsoft Windows and Apple/macOS environments.

·       Strong knowledge of laptops, desktops, monitors, docking stations, and common computer peripherals.

·       Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, networking/connectivity, and end-user application issues.

·       Experience supporting conference room and AV technology.

·       Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications and common corporate productivity tools.

·       Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, customer service, and interpersonal skills.

·       Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical employees.

·       Ability to work independently and manage multiple support requests and locations.

·       Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.

·       Ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout assigned New Jersey territory.

Preferred Qualifications

·       Experience supporting multiple corporate or branch locations.

·       Experience with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, or similar endpoint management tools.

·       Experience with Apple device management.

·       Familiarity with Teams, Zoom, or other video conferencing platforms.

·       Experience with IT ticketing systems.

Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be a hands-on, dependable, service-oriented IT professional who enjoys working directly with users and solving problems. This position is ideal for someone who prefers a combination of desktop support and field work rather than spending the entire day at a help desk. Candidates should be comfortable working independently at remote locations while also functioning as part of a larger corporate IT support team.
