Job Description

We are seeking a Principal Identity & Microsoft 365 Security Consultant to join our team in a high-impact, advisory and engineering role. This position will support both U.S. and LATAM-based projects, working closely with enterprise clients to design and secure modern identity environments.

This is a long-term, part-time to full-time contract opportunity (hour-based) with consistent weekly work and strong potential for extension beyond 12 months.

Role Overview

The Principal Identity & Microsoft 365 Security Consultant will serve as a technical authority across identity architecture and Microsoft security ecosystems, driving secure design across hybrid and cloud environments.

This role focuses heavily on:

• Identity-first security strategies

• Zero Trust architecture

• Microsoft Entra ID & Microsoft 365 security solutions

• Enterprise IAM governance and risk alignment

You will partner directly with security leadership and engineering teams to deliver scalable, compliant identity solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Identity & Access Management (IAM) Architecture

• Design and secure enterprise identity architectures across Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID

• Lead hybrid identity implementations including sync, authentication, and authorization models

• Establish and enforce Zero Trust identity frameworks

Microsoft Entra ID Security & Governance

• Architect secure Entra ID environments for workforce and privileged access

• Define identity security baselines aligned with risk and compliance standards

• Serve as escalation point for complex identity/security issues

Microsoft 365 Security Engineering

• Lead implementation of Microsoft 365 security controls across enterprise tenants

• Integrate identity-driven controls into collaboration and productivity environments

• Support secure adoption of M365 within hybrid/cloud architectures

Privileged Access & Risk Management

• Design and advise on privileged access strategies (least privilege, identity assurance)

• Support identity-related risk assessments and audit readiness

• Develop architecture documentation for compliance and governance

Advisory & Technical Leadership

• Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders on identity-first security strategies

• Translate business and regulatory requirements into secure technical solutions

• Mentor engineers and promote best practices across identity security

Required Qualifications

Experience

• Senior-level experience in Identity, IAM, or Microsoft Security consulting/engineering

• Proven success delivering identity security solutions in enterprise or regulated environments

Technical Expertise

• Strong experience with:

  • Active Directory (on-prem & hybrid)

  • Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)

  • Microsoft 365 security architecture

• Deep understanding of:

  • Identity governance & access control

  • Zero Trust security principles

Nice to Have

• Experience supporting multi-region environments (U.S. + LATAM)

• Consulting or client-facing experience

• Familiarity with compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO, etc.)

Engagement Details

• Location: 100% Remote (U.S. + LATAM collaboration)

• Type: Contract (hourly, flexible utilization)

• Duration: Long-term (12+ months expected)

• Hours: Variable but consistent weekly workload
