RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Technical Writer in Charlotte, NC.
Summary:
This role will focus on creating clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation for internal systems, processes, and support workflows across the organization. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, comfortable working with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and skilled at translating complex systems into easy-to-understand documentation that supports both internal teams and franchise partners.
Responsibilities:
* Senior Technical Writer will create, edit, and maintain clear, user-friendly documentation for franchise partners and internal teams, including SOPs, process guides, FAQs, and reference materials
* Develop franchise-facing content that supports system usage, operational processes, and new initiatives
* Partner with business, operations, and technical stakeholders to understand workflows and translate them into accessible documentation
* Ensure documentation is written in plain, business-friendly language tailored to a non-technical audience
* Maintain consistency, accuracy, and quality across all documentation
* As a Senior Technical Writer, you will support the creation of onboarding materials, job aids, and training resources for franchise and internal use
* Organize and structure documentation to improve usability, adoption, and ongoing maintenance
* Proactively identify gaps or opportunities to improve documentation and communication
REQUIREMENTS:
* 5+ years of experience in technical writing, process documentation, or business documentation for internal or external audiences
* Proven experience creating and maintaining clear, user-friendly documentation, including SOPs, process guides, FAQs, job aids, and reference materials
* Experience developing franchise-facing or partner-facing documentation that supports system usage, operational processes, and new initiatives
* Experience partnering with business, operations, and technical stakeholders to gather information and validate documentation
* Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to structure documentation for usability, adoption, and long-term maintenance
* Proficiency with common documentation tools (e.g., Word, Google Docs, SharePoint, Confluence, or similar knowledge-base platforms)
* Demonstrated ability to write in plain, business-friendly language while maintaining clarity and completeness
* Strong ability to translate complex systems, workflows, and processes into easy-to-understand documentation for non-technical audiences
* Ability to manage multiple documentation efforts simultaneously and meet deadlines
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
