THE WORK
Reporting to the Vice President Chief Engineer for MIC2, the Chief Engineer Director for the $1.4B UMS portfolio that includes the execution of the UMS portfolio of programs. As the UMS Chief Engineer, the selected individual will be the Senior Engineering & Technology interface to the program office and the customer for all engineering matters across the portfolio. This role will partner with the MIC2 market segment Chief Engineers, Chief Engineer VP and Directors, S&BD , CETO, PMO and eTech liaisons to ensure successful achievement of all program and E&T goals.
This individual will provide the overall technical leadership and program performance for all programs and captures within the diverse portfolio. The Chief Engineer will ensure that technical integrity is maintained, right engineering rigor and discipline is applied, proposals are executable, and ensure engineering technical, cost, and schedule within area of responsibility are met or exceeded. Primary site responsibility is Manassas with interfaces across LOBs in Syracuse, West Palm Beach and Moorestown. The day-to-day responsibilities for this role are to lead a technical team of cross -functional engineers to ensure successful system/product development and technical delivery excellence across a diverse portfolio of projects domestic and international worth $1.4B in Sales in the areas of acoustic sensors and weapons, sonar integration, specialized undersea systems and submarine development and production.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or higher in in Engineering discipline is required; Advanced degree is preferred
Minimum of 10+ years of supervisory or leadership experience over a technical organization
Successful experience managing a complex portfolio of programs and contracts in various lifecycle phases
Proven ability to create and implement a vision and create teams while demonstrating LM Core Values and Full Spectrum Leadership imperatives
Ability to work at all levels technically and programmatically, from detailed design to high level strategy development.
Technical lead experience across all phases of the product life cycle from proposal creation through product development, test, deployment, and support
Ability to concisely explain complex subjects and issues to executive leadership
Prior functional leadership of a large, diverse and distributed teams of employees
Ability to develop a team solution and obtain management support for that solution
Technical negotiation experience
Systems Architecture and Integration experience
Experience building strong customer relationships both internally and externally, translating customer needs into capability development
Active Secret Clearance and ability to obtain Top Secret Clearance
Desired skills
Experience with acoustic sensors and weapons, sonar integration, specialized undersea systems and/or submarine development and production
Experience with cloud services, agile systems development, data architecture, Generative and Agentic AI, classified system development, integration, test and deployment
Experience managing cost plus and fixed price contracts with both acquisition and end user customer experience
Proven record of developing and selling complex SW or Systems within cost and schedule
Experience with Capture, IRAD, Development, Production and Sustainment; developing and implementing technology roadmaps
Experience leading technical teams of individuals from a variety of diverse backgrounds and disciplines
Experience in multiple lines of business, and/or outside of E&T supporting program execution and/or new business strategy and capture
Experience as the primary customer interface and primary interface with the SLT
Active Top Secret clearance

Ability to work remotely
Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
National Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $180,000 - $309,120. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
