Randstad is seeking a high-caliber Principal Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to drive secure-by-design principles and comprehensive cyber risk management across enterprise Agile Release Trains (ARTs) for a premier client in the Washington, DC area. Serving as a strategic bridge between business, technology, architecture, and cybersecurity teams, this senior leader embeds security early into system designs to eliminate technical debt, minimize remediation costs, and maintain compliance with regulatory and industry standards. The ideal candidate blends deep expertise in enterprise security architecture with modern Agile delivery methods, serving as a trusted advisor who enables secure, compliant business innovation at scale.

responsibilities:

• Secure-by-Design Governance: Provide dedicated cybersecurity oversight and architectural guidance across Agile Release Trains (ARTs), ensuring security requirements are integrated into solution designs from inception.
• Risk Management & Compliance: Identify, evaluate, and mitigate cybersecurity risks across the enterprise portfolio while ensuring strict alignment with regulatory, enterprise, and industry security frameworks.
• Strategic Cross-Functional Liaison: Act as the primary security liaison connecting business leadership, enterprise architects, software engineers, and cyber operations teams to align business goals with security imperatives.
• Architecture & Delivery Support: Partner with solution and enterprise architects to guide secure design decisions, reducing implementation risks, technical debt, and post-deployment remediation expenses.
• Security Standards Acceleration: Support strategic cyber risk operations initiatives, improving enterprise-wide security governance, continuous monitoring, and threat exposure management.

qualifications:

Experience: 8+ years of progressive cybersecurity experience with a strong track record as a Senior or Principal ISSO working within complex, large-scale enterprise environments.

Agile Expertise: Proven hands-on experience integrating security practices into SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) or enterprise Agile Release Trains (ARTs).

Architecture & Frameworks: Deep familiarity with security architecture principles, risk management frameworks (e.g., NIST SP 800-37/800-53, ISO 27001, or FedRAMP), and secure software development lifecycles (SDLC).

Cross-Functional Leadership: Demonstrated ability to influence senior technical and business stakeholders, translate complex compliance needs into actionable design requirements, and foster a "secure-by-design" culture.

Certifications (Preferred): Active CISSP, CISM, CRISC, GSLC, or SAFe Agilist/Security certifications.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related technical field (or equivalent professional experience).
