Job SummaryWe are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented
Epic Willow Inpatient Analyst to support and enhance inpatient pharmacy workflows within Epic. This role requires
Epic Willow Inpatient certification, hands-on experience with
Epic implementation and optimization, and active participation in
build, testing, and go-live support. The analyst will collaborate closely with pharmacy, clinical, and IT teams to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant medication management workflows.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the subject matter expert for Epic Willow Inpatient, supporting medication ordering, verification, dispensing, and administration workflows.
- Design, build, configure, and maintain Epic Willow Inpatient functionality, including:
- Medication records and formularies
- Order Sets and medication orders
- Clinical decision support (alerts, warnings, hard stops)
- Integration with MAR, Orders, and other Epic modules
- Participate in Epic implementations, upgrades, and optimization initiatives, including workflow design sessions and build validation.
- Collaborate with inpatient pharmacy leadership, clinicians, nursing, and IT partners to gather requirements and translate them into Epic solutions.
- Develop and execute unit testing, integrated testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT); document results and resolve defects.
- Troubleshoot and resolve build and workflow issues related to inpatient pharmacy operations.
- Support go-live and post-go-live stabilization, including on-call or at-the-elbow support as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation for build, workflows, and change management.
- Ensure pharmacy workflows comply with organizational policies, patient safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with related Epic teams (e.g., Orders, ClinDoc, Willow Ambulatory, Interfaces, Reporting).
Required Qualifications- Epic Willow Inpatient Certification (active and current).
- 3+ years of Epic Willow Inpatient analyst experience, including at least one full Epic implementation.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Inpatient pharmacy build and workflow configuration
- Medication ordering and verification processes
- Testing and validation activities (UAT, integrated testing)
- Strong understanding of inpatient pharmacy operations and medication safety.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with clinical and technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in hospital or health system environments.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications- Experience with additional Epic modules such as Willow Ambulatory, Orders, ClinDoc, or MAR.
- Experience supporting Epic upgrades or major version implementations.
- Knowledge of pharmacy regulatory standards and compliance practices.
- Prior experience with go-live support and stabilization.
- Additional Epic certifications.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $80.00 - $90.00/hr.
