Senior Full Stack Engineer (Go / Cloud Optimization)

Role Summary
The Intersect Group is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer with strong Go/Golang expertise to help design and enhance cloud-native platforms focused on cloud optimization and FinOps enablement. This role is centered on building scalable backend services while contributing to user-facing applications within a modern, cloud-first architecture.
You will play a key role in evolving existing systems, developing new capabilities, and improving cloud cost efficiency across distributed environments. Working closely with engineering, data, and cloud operations teams, you will contribute to high-impact solutions that increase visibility, performance, and resource efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable backend services and APIs using Go/Golang.
• Contribute to full stack development, including frontend functionality using modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Develop and enhance cloud-native applications focused on optimization, analytics, and operational efficiency.
• Partner with data engineering and cloud operations teams to improve system performance and resource utilization.
• Build and maintain infrastructure automation using Terraform and containerized environments (Docker).
• Participate in architecture discussions, technical planning, and code reviews.
• Improve existing platforms that identify and drive cloud cost optimization opportunities.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to enhance coding efficiency, debugging, and system design.

Key Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong full stack background.
• Advanced hands-on experience with Go/Golang in production environments.
• Experience building scalable backend systems, APIs, and distributed applications.
• Strong cloud experience with Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Azure (Google Cloud Platform preferred).
• Experience with Terraform (required) and containerization tools such as Docker.
• Proficiency with modern frontend technologies (JavaScript/TypeScript; React preferred).
• Experience working with AI-assisted coding tools in a professional engineering environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a systems-thinking approach and ability to operate in fast-paced environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within FinOps, cloud optimization, or infrastructure efficiency initiatives.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform services such as BigQuery, Cloud Run, and Cloud Storage.
• Experience with cloud billing, telemetry, or usage analytics platforms.
• Exposure to large-scale data platforms or distributed analytics systems.
