Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, innovative, and detail-oriented individual for a Power Engineering Internship with our R&D Protection Systems department in King of Prussia, PA
. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to work part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer. As a Power Engineer Intern, a typical day might include the following: - Providing Technical support to SEL staff & customers.
- Developing and maintaining knowledge in SEL processes and technologies.
- Performing testing on new and existing technology.
- Documenting and communicating test results.
This Job might be for you if: - You are a current student pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering with at least two years of technical coursework completed.
- You have practical knowledge of electrical power systems, including three-phase circuits analysis and power flow.
- You have some knowledge of power systems operation, control and protection concepts.
- You have some experience with MATLAB, Simulink or PSCAD for power systems simulation.
- You are willing to learn more about SEL protective relays and automation controllers.
- You have the ability to use Microsoft Office software.
- You have the ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
