Middleware Engineer

Introduction

The Middleware Engineer is responsible for developing system design specifications, preparing design documentation, creating integrations, and ensuring smooth operation of middleware integrations to support business requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop System Design Specifications
• Prepare design documentation for solutions that meet system and security requirements
• Develop detailed specifications covering integrations, databases, network architecture, security, and software configurations
• Create structured diagrams to represent database designs, communication systems, and network paths
• Implement enhancements to existing integrations to accommodate security updates or mapping changes
• Develop operational and installation procedures for communication systems, hardware, network, security, storage, and software
• Create, test, and maintain APIs and backend database components
• Build integrations to enable data exchange between agency systems and external platforms
• Monitor scheduled jobs and system traffic to confirm successful processing of all requests
• Investigate and resolve integration issues by coordinating with vendors and partner teams
• Conduct unit testing and support QA test cycles
• Develop, implement, and monitor information technology quality assurance standards
