About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Security Engineer with deep hands-on expertise in Zscaler to support major security initiatives and strengthen the organization's overall cyber posture. This role focuses heavily on Zscaler deployment, optimization, and integration, while also supporting a broad range of cybersecurity platforms and contributing to the development of a formal Vulnerability Assessment (VA) program.

This is a hybrid position-remote work is available, but candidates must be able to be onsite in Salt Lake City as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Focus
  • Lead deployment, configuration, optimization, and integration of Zscaler technologies.
  • Serve as SME for Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and Zscaler Private Access (ZPA).
Additional Cybersecurity Responsibilities
  • Provide operational and strategic support across tools including:
    • CrowdStrike (EDR)
    • Proofpoint (email security)
    • Wiz (CSPM)
    • Rapid7 (vulnerability analytics)
    • Databricks (security-related use cases)
  • Support a variety of tactical cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Help build and mature the organization's Vulnerability Assessment Program.
  • Collaborate with IT, cloud, and security teams on security control design and implementation.
  • Analyze security events, alerts, and telemetry to identify and mitigate threats.
  • Provide cyber advisory guidance on best practices, risk reduction, and program maturity.
Required Qualifications
  • Strong, hands-on experience with Zscaler (ZIA/ZPA).
  • Experience with at least one (preferably multiple) of the following:
    • CrowdStrike
    • Proofpoint
    • Wiz
    • Rapid7
    • Databricks
  • Background in cybersecurity engineering, SecOps, or cloud security.
  • Experience supporting or developing Vulnerability Assessment/Management programs.
  • Ability to work independently in a hybrid/remote environment.
  • Strong communication and cross-team collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in security architecture or cyber advisory/consulting.
  • Experience leading security tool deployments or platform migrations.
  • Familiarity with frameworks such as NIST CSF, CIS Controls, or ISO 27001.
  • Cloud security experience (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform).
